Unlock the full potential of your electric skateboard with our guide to tuning your trucks and bushings for an optimal ride.
Bushings and trucks:
Tune everything to ride better
A good truck setup turns a simple ride into an exceptional experience. Experienced riders know: it all comes down to bushings and how tight the trucks are.
Why adjust your trucks?
Trucks are adjusted according to your weight and your riding style. Two settings are available:
- Bushing hardness: affects maneuverability and stability
- Truck tightness: tighter = more stable, looser = more maneuverable
Your needs change with how you ride. Carving requires maneuverability, while all-terrain riding and speed require stability.
What are bushings?
Bushings are the small urethane cushions that make up the trucks. There are two per truck. One sits above the hanger, the other between the hanger and the baseplate.
Their role is to allow the truck to lean while offering resistance. Our trucks come with 90A bushings designed for average-weight riders, an excellent starting point for most riders.
Hardness based on your weight
Hardness is measured in "duro": a number followed by an A (e.g., 90A). Our standard bushings are 90A, suitable for most users. The recommendations below are for more demanding riders.
65 to 90 kg
Note: Hardness refers to a new bushing. After several hundred hours, the rubber will lose hardness. A used 90A will become equivalent to a new 85A, making your electric skateboard more maneuverable.
Fine-tune your truck tightness of your trucks
Like bushing hardness, tightening directly affects maneuverability. The more you tighten, the less you turn. The less you tighten, the more you can carve.
One tip: test it!
Your stock 90A bushings suit most body types. Each rider finds their own sweet spot. Our team, made up of riders with varied body types, all ride with the 90A supplied with the board. There is no universal solution. The ideal setup is a matter of feel and personal preference.
