Evo-Spirit, a historic player in electric mobility in France, complies with the new decree on EDPM (Motorised Personal Mobility Devices) published on 25/10/2019. Our electric skateboards and electric scooters finally have legal status.
This decree is an authorisation, not a restriction
Some see the decree as a usage restriction… But it's the opposite. Before, electric scooters were officially banned everywhere, even though a tolerance had existed for 10 years.
Today you can ride legally on the road in urban areas, with the main constraint being a limit of 25 km/h. Evo-Spirit anticipated these technical constraints to make all its models compliant.
What changes depending on your vehicle
🛴 Electric scooters
All our scooters are limited to 25 km/h, equipped with a bell, front and rear lights, and side reflectors to be visible at night.
🛹 Electric skateboards
Two versions to choose from. The EDPM version limited to 25 km/h with lights, reflectors and finger bell. The Sport version, unrestricted, reserved exclusively for private land.
It is possible to have both remotes and choose depending on usage.
🏍 Scooters and motorbikes
Evo-Spirit electric scooters and motorbikes are not affected by this decree: they are already road-approved in the L1e-B category.
Making your vehicle compliant

The 25 km/h speed limiter is already in place on all our models, no action required.
- Lighting: for unequipped models, we offer USB rechargeable LED lights.
- Reflectors: available to install on the front tube.
Skateboards purchased before the decree
- Switcher v1 and Curve v3: limited remotes, reflectors, lights and finger bell available.
- Evo-LSC: already limited to 25 km/h by design.
- Older models: setting the remote to "medium" speed is enough to stay under 25 km/h.
